Bringing together data and learning to support better decisions.

Our work focuses on helping teams make better use of digital tools, systems and data to support effective MEL. We design dashboards and data systems to enable structured data collection and clear visualisation, and develop bespoke digital MEL tools and platforms tailored to our clients’ needs. This includes our own platform, Track to Change, which brings together qualitative and quantitative insights to inform reflection and decision-making in meaningful ways. Every solution is developed in partnership with clients and collaborators so it aligns with how learning actually happens in day-to-day work.

Security, privacy, and responsible data use are paramount to what we do. We take a careful, values-led approach to AI, using it where it adds value while keeping human judgement and accountability central.

Across our digital work, the aim is simple: to help teams understand what’s shifting, why it matters, and how to respond with clarity.

About Track to Change

TTC dashboard r

Track to Change is a digital platform designed to support measurement, evaluation and learning in complex initiatives, particularly systems change and place-based work.

It was developed in response to a recurring challenge we see in practice: traditional MEL systems often struggle to capture how change actually happens in complex, non-linear contexts. Early signals of change such as shifts in relationships, trust, narratives, behaviours and ways of working are often fragmented, overlooked or lost. Track to Change helps teams notice, organise and learn from these signals of change while work is unfolding, rather than only looking back at the end.

Visualise and Communicate

Support learning and informed decision-making

We design insightful dashboards that provide a complete picture of what's happening. By connecting multiple data points in Power BI, we help teams spot trends, notice anomalies, and see patterns over time, supporting deeper analysis and clearer interpretation. Dashboards help teams track progress, explore what is working, and communicate insights clearly to different audiences. Our approach is collaborative and shaped by how information is actually collected and used, creating tools that integrate with existing systems and support meaningful interpretation. Data governance, privacy, and responsible access are built in from the start, ensuring information is reliable and fit for purpose.

Using AI in our work

Our approach is grounded in principles inspired by leading artificial intelligence (AI) frameworks, with ethics, security and accountability at the centre of every decision.

We do not follow AI trends blindly, but rather take a measured and cautious approach, progressing carefully and thoughtfully as this area develops, always guided by our principles and responsibilities.

Principles

  • Community benefit: AI should support outcomes that are useful, responsible and in the public interest
  • Privacy and security: data protection and confidentiality are non-negotiable
  • Accountability: we remain responsible for all work produced, with or without AI
  • Fairness: we are alert to bias, exclusion and unintended impacts
  • Transparency: we are clear about when and how AI is used

These principles shape both the tools we choose and how we use them in practice. We also have an internal AI policy that guides decisions about which tools we use, how and when they are applied, and how we communicate AI use with clients. This helps ensure our approach is consistent, considered, and aligned with our values and client expectations.

Careful use, where it adds real value

We see AI as a tool that can support human work in specific situations, not as a replacement for judgement, experience, or relationships.

We are also selective and disciplined in how we use AI. In some cases, it helps us work more efficiently or handle large volumes of information, allowing us to focus more time on analysis, interpretation and learning.

Alignment with government guidance

We actively monitor and align our practice with government guidance and governance frameworks at state and national levels. This helps ensure our work remains appropriate for public sector, NGO and community contexts, and supports shared standards and expectations.

Transparency, communication and learning

We are committed to being open about our use of AI and communicating clearly with clients about when and why it is used. We make deliberate choices about AI, rather than defaulting to it. We also provide regular training for our team, create space for ongoing discussion about ethics and good practice, and review and adapt our approach as guidance and expectations evolve.
